Answer: 308 cm
1 m = 100 cm, so 3 m = 300 cm, and 300 + 8 = 308 cm.
4 kg 70 g = ? g
Answer: 4070 g
1 kg = 1000 g, so 4 kg = 4000 g, and 4000 + 70 = 4070 g.
2 ℓ 45 ml = ? ml
Answer: 2045 ml
1 ℓ = 1000 ml, so 2 ℓ = 2000 ml, and 2000 + 45 = 2045 ml.
A ribbon 2 m 65 cm long is joined to another of 1 m 80 cm. What is the total length?
Answer: 4 m 45 cm
265 cm + 180 cm = 445 cm, which is 4 m 45 cm.
A sack of rice has a mass of 5 kg 200 g. 1 kg 850 g is used. How much rice is left?
Answer: 3 kg 350 g
5200 g − 1850 g = 3350 g, which is 3 kg 350 g.
2 ℓ 400 ml of juice is poured equally into 8 cups. How much does each cup hold?
Answer: 300 ml
2400 ml ÷ 8 = 300 ml.
A rectangular field is 45 m long and 28 m wide. What is its perimeter?
Answer: 146 m
Perimeter = 2 × (45 + 28) = 2 × 73 = 146 m.
Which of these is the largest mass?
Answer: 3 kg 200 g
3 kg 200 g = 3200 g, which beats 3 kg 20 g, 2 kg 300 g and 320 g.
A rope 8 m 40 cm long is cut into 6 equal pieces. How long is each piece?
Answer: 1 m 40 cm
840 cm ÷ 6 = 140 cm, which is 1 m 40 cm.
A 5-litre bottle is filled with 3 ℓ 250 ml of water. How much more is needed to fill it?
Answer: 1 ℓ 750 ml
5000 ml − 3250 ml = 1750 ml, which is 1 ℓ 750 ml.
